From free to fully hosted: what a wedding photo wall really costs, what drives the price and how it compares to renting a photo booth.

"So what does one of these photo walls actually cost?" is the question couples ask us most often, and the one the internet answers least honestly. Usually there is a "from" and a number, and what the "from" covers only becomes clear once the quote arrives.

So here is the full price list, from zero to fully hosted, with what is actually included at each step.

The short answer

A wedding photo wall costs between € 0 and around € 3,500. What makes the difference is not the technology, which is the same throughout, but how much of the work you take on yourselves.

PackagePriceWho it is for
Free€ 0Trying it out
Starter€ 59.99Small celebration, all self-managed
Premium€ 99.99Large guest count, all self-managed
Wedding Essential€ 390Wedding design and QR kit
Wedding Signature€ 1,790Plus stationery and photos on paper
Wedding Prestige Hostedfrom € 3,490We are there on the day

All prices are one-off payments for your wedding, not a subscription. And the three wedding packages currently carry a fair discount, more on that below.

Starting for free

You can create a fully working wall for free, with no credit card. It includes 25 photos, ten guests, five challenges and four hours of runtime.

That is not enough for a wedding, but that is not the point either. The free tier exists so you can set the wall up on your television, run through it with two friends and get a feel for it before spending anything. We recommend every couple do that first.

The do-it-yourself option: € 59.99 and € 99.99

If you do not need a wedding design, printed stationery or any hand-holding, but simply a wall that runs on the day, there are two single-event walls:

Starter, € 59.99 — 200 photos, 100 guests, 50 challenges, 24 hours of runtime.

Premium, € 99.99 — 1,000 photos, 500 guests, 200 challenges, 48 hours of runtime.

Both come without EventWall branding and with a freely configurable slideshow mode. You design the wall yourself, download your QR code and print the table stands at your print shop or at home.

Is that enough for a wedding? Technically, yes. Reckon on roughly five to ten photos per guest across a full wedding day, so with eighty guests you are quickly at 400 to 800 pictures. Starter is usually too tight for a wedding; Premium fits the vast majority of celebrations. What you handle yourself in both cases: design, printing, setup, and the question of who deals with it on the day if something does not work.

The wedding packages

That is exactly where the wedding packages come in. They cost more because they take work off your hands, not because the wall is any different.

Wedding Essential — € 390

For couples who want to run their wall themselves but would rather not design it themselves.

  • An EventWall for your wedding across the agreed period of use
  • A semi-custom wedding design by professional designers, with your names, date, colours and cover image
  • A digital QR starter kit as print-ready PDFs: welcome sign and table stands
  • Twelve customisable photo challenges for your guests
  • A 30-minute setup call and remote technical check
  • A download of the approved wall photos, subject to technical availability

Wedding Signature — € 1,790

Everything from Essential, plus everything printed. That is the jump that explains the price difference: paper, postage and production are real costs, not margin.

  • A fully custom wall and QR design with two rounds of revisions
  • Invitations including design and standard printing up to the agreed quantity
  • Two stationery items of your choice carrying the QR code and a prompt to the wall
  • 100 retro prints made from the wall photos after the wedding
  • Thank-you cards, a photo book and twelve photo magnets
  • Priority support throughout the preparation phase

Wedding Prestige Hosted — from € 3,490

For weddings where nobody from your circle should have to think about it on the day.

  • Everything from Essential and Signature
  • Two EventWall staff on site for up to eight hours
  • Setup and teardown plus projector and screen after a venue check
  • Active guest support, photo moderation and hosted photo challenges
  • Travel within the agreed base zone (Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Vienna)

The "from" is meant honestly here: with more than 100 guests on site, special equipment or longer hours, we put together an individual quote.

Photo wall or photo booth rental: which is cheaper?

The classic photo booth is the obvious alternative, and the comparison is worth making because the two do different things.

A photo booth with an attendant, props and instant printing typically costs in the mid three figures for an evening in Austria, somewhere around € 400 to € 900 depending on the provider and the setup.1 That puts it between our Essential and Signature packages.

But the difference is less about price than about principle:

A photo booth is a place. It stands in a corner, and anyone who wants a photo walks over to it. Whatever happens at the ceremony, over drinks, on the drive to the venue or on the dance floor, it never sees.

A photo wall is everywhere. Every phone in the room is a camera that is already in someone's hand. That gets you not just more pictures but different ones: the view from inside the room rather than the one from the booth.

What you are left with afterwards. A photo booth gives you prints and a memory card. A wall gives you an album with everything your guests captured all day, including the pictures that would otherwise never have reached you.

To be fair: what a photo booth does better is the instant print as a keepsake and the ritual of squeezing three people into a box. The two are not mutually exclusive and plenty of couples end up with both. And if you can only pick one, the question is not "which is cheaper" but: do you want photos of one spot, or of your whole day?

Hidden costs almost nobody budgets for

Four items that appear in no package price and can still come up:

A projector or large screen. Many venues provide both; some charge a rental fee for them. Ask early, because this is where an unexpected three-figure amount turns up most often. With the Prestige package we bring the equipment.

Printing the QR codes. With the Essential package you get print-ready PDFs and handle the printing. Expect a small two-figure amount if the table stands go to print together with the rest of your stationery, and considerably more if you order them separately three days before.

Internet at the venue. Old vaulted cellars and barns are beautiful places and terrible for reception. Check it when you visit, before it becomes a problem on the day.

Extra prints and photo books. The Signature package includes 100 retro prints and a photo book. Anything beyond that after the wedding is ordered separately.

Frequently asked questions about pricing

Is this a subscription? No. The wedding packages and the single-event walls are one-off payments for your wedding.

Can we test first and pay later? Yes, and we recommend it. Create a free wall, try it out, and only then decide on a package.

How long does the wall run on the day? 48 hours in the wedding packages, and matched to your schedule with Prestige Hosted. For the single-event walls it is 24 and 48 hours respectively.

How much lead time do you need? At least twelve weeks, so that design, printing and coordination stay relaxed. Shorter timelines are something we are happy to discuss personally, just ask.

Does it cost more if more guests turn up than planned? Not within the package limits. If you can see you will go beyond them, tell us in advance and we will adjust, rather than having something block on the day.

Do we get the photos in full quality? Yes, your guests upload in original quality2, without the compression that messenger apps apply to every picture.
